Largest Fountains in Asia will be built in the Ujjayanta Palace Lake

The Agartala Municipal Corporation's conference room hosted a meeting of the City Level Advisory Forum (CLAF) this morning, which was presided over by Pratima Bhoumik, a union minister of state. AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, ASCL CEO and AMC Commissioner Dr. SK Yadav, MLA Dr. Dilip Das, and 14 other participants from various professions attended this conference.

Dr. Yadav told reporters outside the CLAF meeting that the discussion at the gathering was centred on the work completed under ASCL, the money expended, and the remaining tasks. "The state government contributed Rs 78 crore, and the central government released Rs 294 crore. The total sum is Rs 372 crore, of which Rs 342 crore worth of work has already been finished. 49 of the 67 projects that were enlisted have been completed, while 17 are still in progress, he continued.

The CEO of ASCL cited some of the more significant projects, saying, "A four-lane Airport road has been sanctioned for a sum of Rs 51 crore and is expected to be finished by January 2023. Another project being worked on at Ujjayanta Palace is being funded by the ADB and is due to be finished by January 2023. It will feature Asia's largest fountain, which will be 120 metres long and illuminated by lasers. The lake at MBB College is already being adorned.

In addition, Dr. Yadav stated that "the building of 13 KM long covered sewers and the installation of five pumps had alleviated the city of Agartala's water-logging issue. Opened recently is the Integrated Command Control Center. Lakes and parks have been updated. Recently, work began on the Haora River Front Development Project, which will be 2 KM long and ideal for jogging, cycling, and other activities.

The state and federal governments are adamant about making Agartala look beautiful and function like a "Smart City," according to MoS Pratima Bhoumik, who posted about the CLAF meeting on social media. The Advisory Committee's entire team met on Tuesday as part of that. Under the guidance of Venkaiah Naidu Ji, the previous Minister of Urban Development, Agartala City was integrated into the Smart City programme.
