TIPRA Motha Delegation Meets BJP President J.P. Nadda, Pushes for TIPRASA Accord and Electoral Roll Revision
A senior delegation from the TIPRA Motha Party, led by Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, met with BJP National President J.P. Nadda in New Delhi on Tuesday to raise key demands concerning the indigenous people of Tripura.
The party emphasized the urgent need to implement the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll across Tripura, especially in tribal areas. This move is seen as critical for ensuring fair and transparent electoral processes.
Another major focus of the meeting was the implementation of the TIPRASA Accord, a commitment made by the Government of India before the Lok Sabha elections. The delegation requested that the Centre fulfill this assurance in the interest of the indigenous Tiprasa community’s rights and future.
Raising geopolitical concerns, the team also discussed the tense situation in Bangladesh and the increasing atrocities against minorities there. They highlighted possible national security implications for the northeastern border areas, including Tripura.
The meeting took place in the presence of Smt. Kriti Devi Debbarman, Hon’ble MP from Tripura East, who actively supported the demands raised by the TIPRA Motha leadership.
This development signals a continued effort by TIPRA Motha to secure justice and protection for the indigenous people of Tripura through peaceful and strategic dialogue at the national level.
