TTAADC Deputy CEM and EM Submit Resignation Letters After Winning Seats in Tripura State Assembly Elections


Hon'ble Animesh Debbarma, the Deputy CEM of TTAADC, and Chitta Ranjan Debbarma, the EM of TTAADC, have submitted their resignation letters to the CEM, Hon'ble Purna Chandra Jamatia. This announcement came in the wake of the 2023 Tripura State Assembly Elections, which were held on February 16th, 2023, with results announced on March 2nd. The TIPRA MOTHA PARTY emerged as the second-largest party in the state, securing 13 seats, out of which Animesh Debbarma won from the 26-Asarambari constituency and Chitta Ranjan Debbarma won from the 47-Ambasa constituency.

It is noteworthy that both Animesh Debbarma and Chitta Ranjan Debbarma were also elected members of TTAADC in the 2021 election. However, according to Article 101(2) of the Indian Constitution, no person can be a member of both Parliament and a House of the Legislature of a State. In light of this provision, both Debbarma and Chitta Ranjan Debbarma submitted their resignations.

The swearing-in ceremony for all newly elected MLAs is expected to be held on March 17th. The newly elected MLAs are expected to work towards the betterment of their respective constituencies and the State as a whole. The people of Tripura are looking forward to a new and progressive government that will address their concerns and work towards their welfare.
