In a recent voice message, former Tripura Minister Mever Kumar Jamatia has appealed to his fellow citizens to maintain peace in the community. In light of the recent post-poll violence in several districts of Tripura, Mr. Jamatia has urged the people to understand the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in the state.
India is a democratic country where elections are held frequently, including Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, Ttaadc, ADC village, and Panchayat elections. While some candidates win, others lose, and this is a part of the game. However, in Tripura, violence has erupted after post-poll elections, which has affected the whole community. Many houses have been destroyed, rubber gardens have been set on fire, and several other incidents have taken place.
In contrast, neighbouring states like Nagaland and Meghalaya have had elections, but there has been no violence after the elections. Mr. Jamatia noted that the celebration of victory rallies in Tripura is traditionally marked by the consumption of alcohol and the destruction of poor people's homes, which some politicians justify and criticise.
He urged the people of Tripura to maintain peace in the community and get united. It is time to understand the importance of peace and harmony and to avoid the cheap mindset that some people have. Other states are watching Tripura, and it is time to show them that the people of Tripura can be peaceful and united.
In conclusion, Mr. Jamatia's message is a call for all Tiprasas to stay calm and united, maintain peace and harmony, and ensure that the state's democratic process remains peaceful and fair for all.
