Center will allocate Rs 500-600 crores for Tripura's Second Airport

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, announced on Thursday that the state's second airport, located in Kailashahar, is set to be constructed soon. Deb stated that the national government is likely to provide funds quickly, with an estimated range of Rs 500 to Rs 600 crore being released for the building and development of related infrastructure at the new airport location, which is approximately 139 kilometres from Agartala. Deb went on to say that the people of Unakoti district have long been waiting for an airport, and that the central government is ready to meet their needs through this new project. "After Kailashahar is listed on the flying map, Tripura will have two airports in total," he stated. The construction of the new airport is expected to provide significant benefits for the region, including improved connectivity and increased economic growth. The development is eagerly anticipated by locals, who are hopeful that it will provide new opportunities for business and tourism. With the national government showing support for the project and the Chief Minister expressing his enthusiasm, it seems that the new airport in Kailashahar is set to become a reality in the near future.
