Historic Meeting Between Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Tripura State Minister, and Tiprasa Media on Diwali.






For the first time, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, the Honorable State Minister of Tripura, held a significant meeting with members of the Tiprasa media community, marking a new milestone in government-media relations. The meeting took place amid the joyous Diwali season, with Dr. Saha extending heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the journalists in attendance, honoring their dedication to informing the public. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Dr. Bipin Debbarma, a respected public official from the State Guest House, underscoring the importance of the gathering.


The event brought together key representatives from prominent media bodies, including the Khumulwng Press Club and the Kokborok Media Forum, both of which operate under the umbrella of the All Press Club. President Angshumoy Debbarma and Secretary Ranjit Debbarma of the Khumulwng Press Club warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie among the Tiprasa media community.


In a central discussion, six seasoned journalists engaged in a meaningful dialogue with Dr. Saha, raising important issues specific to Tiprasa journalists. These included concerns over the safety, freedom, and resources necessary for effective journalism, particularly in the unique cultural and social landscape of Tripura. The journalists emphasized the crucial role the state government plays in supporting a robust media sector, which not only ensures the public’s right to information but also strengthens democratic values in the region.
