Relief from Heatwave: IMD Predicts No Heatwave Conditions in Most Parts of India for Next Five Days


According to the India Meteorological Department's announcement on Saturday (April 22), there will be a relief from the ongoing heatwave in many parts of the country for the next five days, as no heatwave conditions are expected in most regions. Additionally, the IMD has forecasted rain in East Central, Northeast India, and Southeast Peninsula India over the next four days.

Here are the IMD's Rainfall Forecast and Warnings:

👉East India:

  • There will be light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the region for the next four days, followed by gradual reduction.
  • Hailstorms are likely to occur in isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on April 22nd, over Odisha during April 22nd-24th, and over Bihar on April 24th & 25th.
  • Heavy rainfall is very likely in isolated places over Odisha on April 24th.

👉Northeast India:

  • There will be light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the region for the next three days, followed by gradual reduction.
  • Heavy rainfall is very likely in isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya on April 22nd.

👉Central India:

  • There will be light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh for the next four days, followed by gradual reduction.
  • Hailstorms are very likely to occur in isolated places over Vidarbha on April 24th.

👉South India:

  • There will be light isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mahe for the next five days.
  • Heavy rainfall is very likely in isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala on April 22nd & 23rd.

👉West India:

  • There will be light isolated rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from April 24th-26th.

👉Northwest India:

  • There will be light isolated rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over the region, except for Rajasthan, for the next 24 hours.
