In a heartwarming gesture of support and compassion, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) provided financial assistance to a young boy named Kamal Tripura, who was critically injured in a bear attack while collecting "Soft Broom" in the jungle to sell and buy food for his family.

Honble Kamal Koloi (Executive Member, Health & ARDD) and Honble Rajesh Tripura (Executive Member, Fisheries) were presented with a cash for Rs. 20,000 to help Kamal Tripura recuperate from his injuries. The incident took place on February 23, 2022, in the dense forest of Bhagirath Kami, Ganda Twisa.

Kamal Tripura, a 15-year-old resident of the area, grew up in a poor home and faced daily hunger. Despite the difficulties, he decided to venture into the forest and collect "Soft Broom" to sell and buy food for his family. However, fate had other plans in store for him, and he was attacked by a large bear, leaving him with severe injuries to his face, legs, and nearly every part of his body.

According to sources, a portion of Kamal's face has vanished, and he is currently being treated at AGMC for his injuries. The TTAADC's financial assistance to Kamal Tripura is a testament to the council's commitment to support its citizens, especially those in need of help and care.

The gesture has been appreciated by locals and has drawn attention to the plight of poor families and children living in the region, who are forced to undertake dangerous jobs to make ends meet. The incident serves as a reminder that there is still much work to be done to improve the lives and livelihoods of marginalized communities in the region, and the TTAADC's efforts to provide financial assistance to Kamal Tripura is a step in the right direction
